About Katherine

KATHERINE BRINK IS AN ARTIST BORN AND RAISED IN MARIETTA, GEORGIA WHERE SHE CURRENTLY LIVES WITH HER HUSBAND, EDWARD.

KATHERINE EARNED A DEGREE IN MARKETING WITH A MINOR IN ART FROM GEORGIA COLLEGE & STATE UNIVERSITY.

KATHERINE’S LOVE FOR ART WAS INSPIRED AT A YOUNG AGE BY HER GRANDMOTHER, WHO TAUGHT HER HOW TO PAINT. SUMMER AFTERNOONS SPENT LEARNING THE BASICS OF PAINTING DEVELOPED INTO A LIFE LONG LOVE FOR THE MEDIUM.

WORKING MAINLY WITH ACRYLICS, KATHERINE’S WORK FINDS INSPIRATION IN THE SIMPLE EVERYDAY BEAUTY FOUND IN LIFE. THE COLORS AND TEXTURE OF A BOUQUET OF FLOWERS, THE LIGHT OF A GORGEOUS MORNING VIEW, THE SITES AT A SATURDAY MORNING FARMER’S MARKET ALL SURVE AS DAILY INSPIRATION. HER FOCUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO EMPHASIZE CONTRAST AND VARIETY WITHIN THE COMPOSITION WHILE CAPTURING THE LIGHT AND COLOR OF HER SUBJECT, WHETHER IT IS A STILL LIFE, LANDSCAPE OR THE OCCASIONAL PORTRAIT.

KATHERINE’S ART IS MEANT TO REMIND VIEWERS THAT BEAUTY CAN BE FOUND IN THEIR OWN LIFE, EVEN IN THE MIDST OF BUSY SCHEDULES AND DEMANDS OF A 21ST CENTURY EXISTENCE. HER HOPE IS TO REMIND AUDIENCES THAT IF YOU WANT TO FIND BEAUTY, YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOOK FURTHER THAN YOUR OWN BACKYARD.
